A potential partnership between Realtek and Intel to license Realtek Semiconductor physical (PHY) interface technology for wireless USB solutions should lead to increased gross margins and net profits for the IC design houses, industry sources indicated. Realtek also plans to drive sales of its wireless USB solution by shrinking the average selling price (ASP).
